Bra Size is a shopping and education resource. Our calculators, charts and articles help you estimate a bra size and understand how sizing works. They are not medical advice, not a diagnosis, and not a replacement for a professional fitting.
1. General information only
Everything on brasize.xyz is general information written for a broad audience. It doesn't take your personal circumstances into account. Use it as a starting point for your own decisions, alongside a brand's size chart and, where you can, a proper fitting.
2. Results are estimates
Our calculators apply standard band-and-cup formulas to the measurements you enter. The result depends entirely on those numbers, so a tape that slips, a padded bra worn while measuring, or a typing mistake will change it. Even with perfect measurements, two numbers can't describe:
- breast shape, projection, root width or how full the top and bottom are;
- tissue firmness, or differences between the left and right side;
- how a particular brand cuts its cups, wires and bands.
Treat a calculated size as the size to try first, and use the fit check and sister sizes to fine-tune from there.
3. Brand and country differences
There is no single international bra size standard. Labels change between countries (a US 34DDD is a UK 34E, a European 75F and a French 90F), and brands within the same country size differently too. Our conversions follow the most widely used conventions, but:
- US brands are inconsistent above DD, and some use E or F for different steps;
- centimetre systems step their cups in 2 cm rather than 1 inch, so larger European cup conversions are approximate;
- Japanese (JIS) sizing uses its own centimetre scale, so its conversions are approximate too.
When a brand publishes its own size chart, that chart takes priority over ours.
4. Volume, shape and body tools
Some tools estimate things like cup volume, breast weight, projection, symmetry, lift or tissue firmness. These use simplified models and averages to help you choose bra styles. They are rough guides, not measurements, and they can't be used to assess health, compare against medical norms, or plan any treatment or procedure.
5. Pregnancy, teens and life stages
Size changes during puberty, pregnancy, breastfeeding, after birth and with weight change vary a lot from person to person. Our life-stage calculators show typical patterns to help with shopping, not predictions for any individual. Parents choosing a first bra for a child should use these tools as a general guide alongside a fitting.
6. Not health guidance
Bra Size covers clothing fit only. Please see a doctor or other qualified health professional if you notice:
- a new lump, thickening or change in skin or nipple;
- pain that doesn't settle, or discomfort that isn't explained by a poorly fitting bra;
- sudden or unexplained changes in size or shape, or noticeable new asymmetry.
Nothing on this site should delay or replace medical advice.
